Wouldn't you save more money, though, in a case like mine:
450 anytime minutes: $30
Unlimited Text: $20
Total: $50
Dropping to Unlimited text & m2AM, keeping current voice plan: $20
or am I completely reading that wrong (which isn't surprising, given a 60-hour work week & severe lack of sleep)?
JFred,
seems like you have an older calling plan and presumably no smart phone?? If this is the case, you may qualify. Not so sure it is that low cost with people with smart phones.

My realistic daily driver with a unrealistic engine swap.
A4 Avant Ultrasport with a 1.8T 6speed Manual. Then TDI swap.
The TDI would bolt up to everything from the 1.8T A4, but I have no idea how, if at all, the ECU from the TDI would talk to the cluster and the rest of the car. The long 6speed gearing would be like a "sporty" TDI gear. About 2200 RPM at 100KM/h, not horrible, just a tad above my friends TDI Jetta.

apple says no, and i can confirm this on my new 2nd gen shuffle. there is a slight gap.
how big is a "slight" gap? well I guess I won't be getting one then because I don't see why I should buy an ipod that can't play back albums properly! my first gen shuffle was completely dead for the past two months until last week when the new utility brought it back, so I can't justify a new shuffle and will probably end up eventually getting one of the nanos (wish the 8GB one came in different colours including the project red version). And my first gen 10GB scroll wheel iPod is still working fine 4 1/2 years after I got it!

Even though you're legally an adult, you're still living at home. Mom and dad are paying for you to live there.
If they're cool with it, groovy; if they aren't, don't push it.
Wait until you're out of the house to go crazy go nuts.

And when FCS4 comes out it will be a year ahead of CS5. What's your point?
The point being that nobody knows when, or if, Final Cut is being upgraded, or what the quality of it will be. One can hope it will be awesome. One can hope it will be out next month.
It's hard to plan purchases around what might come from Apple. Secrets may be great for building buzz around an iPhone. It sucks for planning software/hardware upgrade costs in business.

For people who own the iPhone 4 and are happy with iPhone 5 being pushed back (so your phone still feel 'new'), this delay only means the iPhone 6 (the one that most of the iPhone 4 owners will be upgrading to) will also be pushed back when it comes to 2012. If Apple is going to release the iPhone 5 in September or later, the iPhone 6 will be out September 2012 at the earliest.
So basically, the whole timeline for bi-annual upgrade got screwed… (well, only for early buyers anyway.)
things are 'pushed back' only if there is an original promised date - which there isn't. But let's say there is an 'expected' mid-summer release, and the product actually came out in Sept; there's still nothing to say apple won't release another iPhone in mid-summer in 2012.
Basically it's all guess-work.

I love all the 'worst carrier ever' comments. Do none of you realize VZW is already charging that much?
Of course not this is ignorant knee jerk city here. Most people don't even buy their phones like this, so this impacts a relatively small number of people. The people it probably impacts the most are those gaming the systems for the phones.
This is not some kind of change or charge that is going to impact the majority of AT&T customers in any way.
Of course some dummies will switch to Verizon and be in the exact same boat because they don't think nor do they educate themselves before they speak, write or act.
It is like cavemen, "More money charge bad... Ugga Bugga"

I also use Roboform on my PC, but it looks like they have gone to a subscription only system - for PC's as well as iPads. I'm planning to stay with Roboform for the PC (but not update to the subscription version), and use something else for the iPad (still haven't decided what).

I'll have my new i7-2600k computer coming online sometime next week after I complete its construction and thorough testing (ahem.. overclocking..). All of the parts for it are arriving today (including the new revised SB motherboard finally!), but except for unfortunately the ram is coming via USPS and is currently in Ontario, CA bound for northern CA so it may be here on saturday but I'm not optimistic. I'm pretty excited for this actually, this will be (relatively speaking) the fastest computer I've ever had.

I think Pros on Final Cut have every right to be worried. While indications are that the pro apps are perfectly profitable it just seems Apple can't be arsed with it all when you can just slap some clever electronics inside a little box, let the sheep lap it up and make a mint.
When Final Cut DID start marching into the fringes of the high end a few years back and Apple started buying and including things like Motion and Shake it did seem like they wanted to own that space. Now? I'm not so sure. Maybe they'll merge Final Cut and Final Cut Express and politely ask pro users to migrate over to Media Composer 5 - perhaps they'll sell it in the Apple store or Mac App store.
Logic, too, looked like ProTools was being increasingly targeted a couple of years back but, again, Apple will probably think keeping the old Emagic AKA Logic operation going as a bit of an anomaly.
Aperture, well, that doesn't really have much of a point with Lightroom around, good though it is.
I just don't think Apple want to be an Adobe or Microsoft anymore, otherwise they would set up a proper semi-independent software division a la Filemaker for the pro apps and give it the resources to grow.
It's all a bit ironic as there's a lot of corporate backing now for iPad and iPhone, which Apple are happy to meet, but they seem to have giving the bird to professionals that kept them going in the lean mid-90s era and more recent converts who thought going Apple meant they were buying into emerging industry standards.

Among Samsung's patents that Apple allegedly infringed, there's this one:
U.S. Patent No. 6,292,179 on a "software keyboard system using trace of stylus on a touch screen and method for recognizing key code using the same"
Which Apple product uses a trace of stylus???

That's a really good point, I'm surprised they haven't already. Everybody else is all over the b-segment now, and yet I haven't even heard a peep from VW about this possibility.
I don't get it either. Volkswagen is very well placed to hit the ground running with a strong entry into the city car segment, but insteatd they are badge-engineering Chrysler minivans, and turning their Jetta & Passat into bloated, cheap, boring mid-size clones.
I don't care for the front end, but I think it's an improvement. Call me crazy? We're not talking about the Passat CC here, but the one that looks like a Nissan Altima, Honda Accord, Pontiac G8, or another half dozen other cars on the road with almost the exact same body shape.
As with those other cars you mentioned, it has no character, and is now just an appliance.
I wish car manufacturers would try harder to make their cars look DIFFERENT instead of the same. Yes, I'm a car nerd and I know the difference between a VW and a Honda, but what's scary is Honda doesn't want you to know - **** look at Hyundai, they want you to see the Genesis and think it's a BMW.. that's DUMB!
To be fair, the Genesis proves that Hyundai can match or beat the Japanese in terms of quality and engineering these days. The V8 in the Genesis is a decent motor. And the Genesis Coupe is as good as any Japanese sports coupe in its price range. They have some of the same quirks as Japanese cars (slightly zany styling, a bit sterile), but they are solid machines.
But it is true that midsize cars (in particular) these days are very boring. And that's precisely why I find this move by VW depressing. There was a time, not long ago, when SAAB, Volvo, VW, and even (though to a lesser extent) Mazda, Nissan, Toyota and Honda made cool and interesting cars. And today, apart from the hybrid craze, cars are about as boring as they've ever been.

On a side note, I wonder whether Apple violates competition rules. When I remember correctly, the iPad had a considerable market share on the tablet market. One could argue that Apple abuses its market position to impose their own (unfair) conditions on publishers.
They don't compete with publishers, and the "tablet market" is not probably too narrow a definition of a "market" (more likely, anti-trust authorities would be interested in the overall "pc" market or the "mobile" market.)
