Hi all,
I know the Forums are still pretty active but is the IV Organisation itself still active?
I came across the IV website yesterday and was really stuck by the mission statement of the Organisation. I did not think twice - went ahead and got registered and made one time donation. I even voted for one of the polls for Sep 18 rally and making plans to visit DC but only to realise today that it was really old one :) Also when I was reviewing the forums today I realised that most of the activities seem to be around years 2006-2007 - like Fundraising Campaign or Media News ,etc.
Appreciate anyones response to let me know if IC is still active. Please do not direct any personal attacks. I did not need to explore GC info so far since my GC was started only during March of 2010 & got my Lc approved only yesterday.
If the organisation is still active, I am looking forward to joing the CT chapter. Thanks!

My company is downsizing for sometime now...and I can be next.
In that case can I move to EAD in the given situation ( as above) ?

Is the Senior App Dev position with a different company? If so, if you want to use AC21 to switch to this new company, you will need to have a job which is "same or similar". AFAIK, you will need to have a "Programmer Analyst" position in the new co.

I read in another forum that 90-day count starts from the received date.
I am not sure though!
Why is it that important? Before EAD was taking about 1.5-2 months. Now it will take a lot more, more than 90 days. I don't think now they will care about that 90 days thing. It wasn't a law requiring them to issue EAD in that period, they were just saying "if you haven't received in 90 days - call us" - that's all.

He did ask me who filed for the GC so he knew mine was EB case.

Is there any document on USCIS website that clearly states that EB AP holder's can visit outside US and return without need of emergency?

The officer you met did not know the difference between AP applied on humanitarian grounds and AP applied based on pending I-485.
My wife entered NEWARK after 6 months in India ( using I-485 based AP) and no questions were asked although the waiting time inside the secondary inspection room was really long.

To the guy who who told me to edit post. there are tons of other posts with irrelevant stuff. i didnt see u jumping on them.
I am trying to be as close to relevant as I can be. As i said, a past legislation doesn't mean future legislation would be same BUT it definitively give us a lesson what we should strive to prevent....

I am about to start my GC processing under EB3 category. I know my chances are extremely extremely slim. I am filing for GC hoping that CIR or some other bill to clear GC backlog passes.
My question is .. How much time would it take to clear all the pending GC cases once the bill is passed ?
I am assuming 2 years. Am I correct ?
I read somewhere on the internet that a similar situation arised in the past (may be year 2000 or 2001), and when a bill was passed to clear the backlog, after few months (for bill signing and other paperwork) everyone with I-140 approvals were eligible to apply for I-485.
Is the situation that exists today any different than it was in year 2000 or 2001 ?
Any comments will be greatly appreciated.
Quite honestly, NO ONE can predict accurate wait times. Even, if some form of Bill gets through - it is anybody's guess as to how much time any of us will have to wait in order for us to be able to file our 485s'.
Expect to wait for a long time...

Hi,
My wife's H4 visa got expired in jan 2008 and I renewed her I-94 and I-94 got extended till 2010.
Next week she is travelling back to India throgh Lufthansa airlines from portland to Frankfurt to Chennai. Some people are telling that getting transit visa in Frankfurt airport is difficult if visa stamping got expired eventhough you have valid I94. Is it correct?
I have two questions here.
1 Is really transit visa required, as just she needs to catch another flight in other terminal in the same airport?
2. If transit visa required will it be problem if her visa stamping got expired ( But she has vaild I797 and I-94 documents ).
Please help me by answeringthese questions.

Also, if their are any Questions form the Port of Entry officer about Paystubs, can we say that employer couldn't find me a project; hence I'm changing back my status to H4 or is there anything else that we can say more appropriate.

May I make a sincere suggestion. Please, go back to school, take a course in English grammar, writing mechanisms and reading comprehension. People can better respond to you, when they understand whatever is it you are asking. You may also be able to file as a qualified EB2 applicant. No pun intended.
