POE officers sometime give hard time while entering. They want documentary proof of urgency why one left country while pending 485 and why outside for longer period. Search some threads here for POE officer's harrasing AP holders.
i will ask my lawyer, to get some insight. Although the mumbo-jumbo he conveys is most time does not provide real answer, other than covering his own backside...
I beleive it should be ok, as long as POE immigration does not ask for pay stubs.

I think you have not read my question clearly. I suggest you read it before answering. I have not seen where the USCIS website asks for pending case numbers if we choose second option. I hope someone who has done this online can shed some light on this.

Getting the driver's license is not the problem, I know it will come. Problem here is why I cannot drive outside SC for up to 60 days waiting for the DL card? Remember I've to surrender my old SC license. This is serious limitation to my work, e.g. I need to go to Atlanta on 08/19 and I cannot drive there.
In September I will go to Italy, what if I don�t get my DL till then?

This is ridiculous
On Checking the SC dmv site and it is interesting to note that non-citizens are not allowed to renew their license online. I guess this is the result of illegal immigration reform thing which is now a part of so many states along with SC. And I think they are running background checks against the legal status of any non-citizen folks. My take would be that you should consider meeting the senator and explaining the issue. They can basically expedite the process so that you wont have to wait for a long time.

There is no rule/law that'll help you get a green card if you stay here for 10 years or even 50 years.
People are not trying to be rude, just a little confused with your innocence.
Honestly, some of us are waiting legally for more than 12 years for the green card. So, given our situation, your question tickled us.

Even though a receipt may have been issued in a case, the online system may not accurately reflect the current status of a July Visa Bulletin adjustment case or a related application. The USCIS is reportedly working on the problem, but has not indicated when the information delays will be resolved.

Next year in July when we will become current, it will again become a game of probability. Because of the 2 specific issues I mentioned, we will have a slightly lower probability of our cases getting picked up. So, I am trying to be pro-active to address these specific issues. The issues definitely need to be fixed as these are glaring glitches in the USCIS file transfer system. I am thinking that we can draft a letter and all affected people can write to Ombudsman. Let me know what everybody thinks

I have filed two service requests, two congressional enquiries and nothing. So have other people and it has not helped them either.
We are all in a black hole hoping for our cases to see the light of day some time just like the WAC cases you refer to.

Yes, Iam in the same boat too.
My I485 has been moved from NSC-CSC-NSC. No updates nothing at all.
I had to call and let them know that i had done my Biomterics in Dec 2007.
And also i was one of those unfortunate people , whose application was not approved , inspite of the dates being current for 2 months.

try POJO method to reach IO. You can find in "n" number of threads to reach IO based upon your service center. but it's based on your luck to get polite and cordial IO. Try multiple times and speak politely.

Press 1 to select English
Press 2 to skip introduction
Press 2
Press 6 to find case status information
Press 1
Now enter your receipt number SRCxxxxxxxxxx
Voice asks if SRC press 1
Then reads out application number, if correct, press 1 (now listen to the case update info..blah blah)
Part way through the blah blah press 3
Wait a moment and press 4
(now if you hear a male voice telling you that no IO is available, it will redirect it to National Customer Service Center (NCSC) you can cut the phone.. and try the same steps)
You should hear "You have reached the TSC of USCIS�" OTHERWISE you have been bounced to NCSC. NCSC only sees what you see when you login to check case status at https://egov.uscis.gov/cris/jsps/index.jsp i.e. you will not get any useful information out of them.
Once you get an IO, be very polite, and take notes for your records. Ask them for their badge number. That way you can reference each conversation by date and the badge number of the IO.
Some of the standard questions:
1) Name check Status ?
2) Background Check Status ?
3) Has it been assigned to an officer ?
4) When can I expect to get some updates on my case ?
5) Can you help me with a ball park date on when my case will be assigned to an officer?
Ofcourse, we all are aware of the standard response we get.

his question was will bad credit affect GC? answer is "no it wont"
please dont suddenly become "Edward Jones" or "Suze orman" and give financial advice because you may be doing bettter than the person asking the question. God forbid, but one major illness can wipe out anyone's good credit, even with insurance. watch "Sicko" and "Maxed Out". Eye-opening documentaries about the predatory greed of the insurance and financial firms. Dont be so smug. kidding about other people's misfortune isnt funny.
Bad credit history will haunt you even after you get your green card :D (if you intend to take a loan for a substantially large investment - like a house)
Think about it... if they don't give you gc based on your credit goof-ups... who's loss is it :D j/k
