Just been on a business trip to Florida and stayed at a hotel in West Palm Beach. The car park and surrounding area were planted with these trees. I think they're banyan trees, a type of fig. Can anyone confirm or otherwise? At night it was lovely to stroll outside and listen to the insects chirping. The lights in the car park lit the trees from underneath giving them a very LOTR look! We were taking a big exhibition with us and everything was just on the limit weight-wise so I daren't even take a monopod, it was so close, so the camera was hand held for this photo. It's not sharp enough to enlarge but wanted to share the look of the place!

Also iMacs are still shipping in 24hrs on the apple website, a good sign that the new iMacs are not coming just yet.
Well, that could be interpreted as:
If you order an iMac now, it will ship tomorrow. It just might be a newer model than the one you were expecting! :D

...that's just because it's a "feature" of the particular video technology (e.g. in Real Media or Windows Media streams you can embed code to open a browser window)...
And QuickTime, too. There are QT movies that will send you to a web page at the end of the film. It seems to me the trailer for Spiderman 2 did this.

Apple pays 70% straight to the record companies, which would be $0.90. If Amazon pays the same, then they have $0.21 loss before they even start. Or Amazon gets different prices than Apple, which would need some explaining.

No one.. and stangely it's now ON by DEFAULT in all the MacTels I've received lately. No idea why.
I do, and so does anyone who has a classic environment of System 7 and earlier for classic compatibility reasons.
Granted you can use TCP/IP on some of these, however the reliability of such extensions on early versions of Classic leaves much to be desired. I however turn off Appletalk when I am away from my home network.

Really good to see the update (finally)... but I am disappointed they didn't bring the 24" back :(
The 27" is too big, and the resolution on the 21.5 is laughable for an upgrade of this magnitude.
The 21.5" is about the same size as the 24", just cut down to a 16:9 aspect ratio. (1920x1080 resolution instead of 1920x1200 on the old 24")
But the next iMac upgrade should be pretty amazing. (8-core base model?)
Not until Intel releases such a CPU.
Having gotten used to a 24" panel, it's hard to step down to a 21.5. Obviously, it's nice to step up to the 27", if one has the extra disposable income. The 16GB RAM is a nice reality option, especially if the default were 8GB.
I hope you don't consider getting the RAM as a BTO option directly from Apple since that would be just a waste of money. Get the 27" model and upgrade the RAM yourself.

It's 'improper' because it is not advantageous for Apple. I wonder if these same posters raised red flags when it was reported that Apple had boxed out the competition by 'pre-buying' touch panels for the next two years from the major manufacturers? Or when they did the same thing a few years ago (buying huge yields at very favorable prices) with flash memory?

did i ever say apple's was gonna be the biggest and the baddest? the funny thing is....i use amazon vod all the time on my roku....so naw, i'm not really an apple fanboy but thanks for assuming.

This is downright silly that a 50bil dollar company can't get a freaking mouse right nor the ability to scroll or right click. No wonder they are turning off a lot of people.
Different is good when it has a purpose. Just had to do everything apple way and cost a gazillion dollars for a decent mouse. It is way too much for me to take, even if it is APPLE. There i said it !!

The iPod is a good device, but for mature and affluent consumers, it's a neutered iPhone. They are good for kids and the shuffle is brilliant for exercise. After 10 years of age it is starting to be surpassed in the market by the tech it helped foster.

It's a shame it's taken this long to be released, the iPhone looks gorgeous in white.
Glad for those that want the white iPhone; but prefer my cell phone in a darker color. But then this is from someone that really likes his iPad 2 in white! :D
Anyone feel confident buying a white one given the problems they've had getting one made?
I would wait to see what the "reviews" were before buying a white iPhone 4 for sure - but doubt that the issues that delayed it's release will be a real issue...

Give us a 4.3" screen so the phone would have to be somewhat bigger - big enough to support two chips for 3G and 4G.

The perception was that he was not in charge for a few years. If he was in a mansion and not a cave he might have still have a bigger role than we thought. I don't think this will end Al Qaeda but it could slow them down for a while.
I heard on CNN that the mansion had no Internet or even phones. I kinda picture him just hiding there, but in luxury.
